• Rycote's Microphone Data
  One of the best free resources on the net, giving up-to-date specifications on almost all current mics. What's particularly good is that they've standardised their specifications format, which makes it much easier to compare different mics.
  

• Sound On Sound's Technical Glossary
  A lot of people don't seem to realise that this is on SOS's site -- they don't make a big deal of it. However, there's masses of useful info here, especially if you're just starting out.
  

• Rane's Pro Audio Reference
  Another slightly more specialist glossary which complements the SOS one quite well.
  

• Canford, Siderise, Studiospares, and Maplin
  If you can't find it between these four, then ring up Canford and they can probably build it for you!
